Tenerife World Cup.. I can walk so I entered!

ree

I'm stoked to be back competing as I only just got back on the water 3 days before the competition after breaking my foot 2 months ago.

PWA Tenerife @tenerifewindsurfworldcup kicked off yesterday with women fleet out first. Even though the wind was pretty light (I was on my biggest gear), we got some good waves in my first heat before the high tide. They were scoring two wave rides only and I advanced to the next round in 2nd place, 0.38 points behind Lina Erpenstein which put me in the higher seeded (stacked) heat of the semifinals.

In the semis they added the jump. I managed to land a clean backloop but unfortunately didn’t get any waves with a scoring potential. I lost the priority battle on each of the very few sets coming through in high tide which was super disappointing as I didn’t feel I got to put up a fight.

The chances for a double elimination are slim with only two days of wind remaining, but fingers crossed that the forecast will improve and we’ll get to sail again🤞🤞🤞

Congratulations to Lina @linaerpenstein Alexia @alexiakiefer SQ @cabeibusha and Iballa @iballa_ruano_moreno for sailing great and making the most of the conditions to secure top 4 positions of the single elimination 👏👏👏
